The SoN Student Awards and Recognition Committee (SARC) is sharing this award opportunity for student and faculty awareness:
The Minority Issues in Gerontology Committee offers a Poster Award to recognize Gerontological Society of American (GSA) Student and Early Career members from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups for original and innovative aging research. The recipients each a receive a certificate, and will be recognized at the Minority Issues in Gerontology Award Presentation and Reception at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
About the Award:
• Submissions are reviewed according to the following criteria: overall contribution to aging research, originality, theoretical framework and rationale, methods, discussion, and clarity
• Awardees will be recognized at GSA’s Annual Scientific Meeting

Eligibility Requirements
• A student or early career member of GSA without a doctoral degree at the time of abstract submission
• Member of an underrepresented race group (Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Pacific Islander, Asian)
• First author of submitted work

June 9 – July 28, 2026. Note: GSA abstracts are typically due in March or April.
