The SoN Student Awards and Recognition Committee (SARC) is sharing this award opportunity for student and faculty awareness:
The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) sponsors the Interdisciplinary Paper Award to recognize outstanding scholarly work related to aging. This award honors a student or early‑career scholar whose paper, based on an abstract accepted for presentation at the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting, demonstrates excellence in interdisciplinary thinking, methodological rigor, and meaningful contribution to the field of gerontology.
About the Award:
• Number of recipients: One
• Award Amount: The recipient receives $250, a certificate, and is recognized at the ESPO Business Meeting and Breakfast at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
• Recognition event date: Award will be presented during a designated session at the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting.
• Registration and/or travel support: There are several travel stipends to assist student members with costs associated with attending the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Open to students in any program and early‑career GSA members
• Self‑nomination
• Paper must be based on an abstract accepted for presentation at the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting
• Work must address a topic related to aging
• A selection committee will review all complete submissions and reserves the right not to recommend an award in a given year
Application Period:
June 9-July 28, 2026. Note: abstract deadline was March 2026.
