CARE Connections: Communication Around End-of-Life Decisions

Decisions about medical treatments towards the end of life are often difficult.

Read how one SoN researcher is working to improve those conversations, in the September 2026 issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE). Here’s an excerpt:

“Improving communication is a lot harder than getting physicians to prescribe this pill more or switch to that kind of procedure. It depends on the interaction between the healthcare provider and the patient and their relationship.”

This month’s CARE Connections also includes a profile of CARE Affiliate Laura Block, PhD, RN; the winner of CARE’s Undergraduate Scholarship; and news and events related to older adult health and well-being.
