The Community Health Internship Program (CHIP) student application is open.
CHIP offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to try out a career in community health through an 8-week paid summer internship running from June 1 – July 24, 2026. Interns are placed in local public health departments, community health centers, and other organizations across Wisconsin.
About the Program:
Gain hands-on experience working on real public and community health projects
Receive mentorship and guidance from a dedicated CHIP mentor
Participate in weekly educational seminars (two hours weekly, four hours in Milwaukee)
Earn a stipend to help cover living expenses
Choose a schedule that fits your needs:
Full-time (40 hrs/wk)
Three-quarters-time (32 hrs/wk)
Half-time (22 hrs/wk)
Quarter-time (12 hrs/wk)
Flexible formats available: in-person, hybrid, or virtual
