University Veteran Services (UVS) is looking to appoint a Military Community Advocate (MCA) for the 25/26 academic year in the School of Nursing. MCAs are military-connected students UVS places in key units on campus to work on projects, events, and programs that help support the military-connected student population on campus. The Military Community Advocate program was started by the National Veterans Leadership Foundation (NVLF), and you can find out more about the program and what other MCAs from around the country have done in their positions on the NVLF website.
As an MCA you would:
- Be supervised by a staff member within the School of Nursing and work with that supervisor to create your project, events, or program.
- Work 4-6 hours per week on your project, events, or program throughout the academic year.
- Receive a $2000 service scholarship from the UVS office (split $1000 per semester).
- Receive financial support to work on your project.
How to become an MCA?
Please email veterans@wisc.edu about your interest in becoming an MCA in the School of Nursing.
