Student mental health survey: We need your input!
25,000 students were invited via email on February 17 to complete the Healthy Minds Survey, a survey on student mental health at UW-Madison. Note: Reminder emails will come from sender “University Health Services” and sender email “healthyminds-UW-Madison@umich.edu” (it’s a national survey run by the University of Michigan).
- Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete
- Asks about mental health, sleep habits, alcohol use, sexual violence, and other health topics
- All responses are confidential
- Respondents will be entered into a drawing for Wiscard deposits—400 students will receive $10, and 10 students will receive $200
- Survey closes March 17, 2025

The data generated by this survey, previously administered in 2016, 2019 and 2022, guide policies, practices and resources to encourage a healthy, safe campus environment. For example, past results led to increased mental health staffing capacity at UHS, more virtual mental health resources, and supported the development of suicide prevention trainings for students, faculty and staff.
