Gold Humanism Honor Society: Night of Storytelling
March 13, 2025 from 6-8 PM
Health Sciences Learning Center (Interactive Learning Center, 3110C)
The Gold Humanism Honor Society would like to invite all interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, students, and trainees to spend an evening sharing and listening to stories of healing, communication, and resilience at our annual Night of Storytelling event. The evening will feature a series of 5-10 minute stories, similar to the format of the popular podcast, The Nocturnist. Whether you have a story to share or are more interested in tuning in – we hope you will join us!
Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP here if you plan on attending (whether or not you hope to share a story). We look forward to seeing you on March 13th. There will be a ZOOM option for people to tune in; however, we request that all speakers plan to share their stories in-person.
For those who are interested in sharing a story, the above RSVP form will also ask for a brief pitch (~100 words). Please submit your pitch by February 21. All submissions will be reviewed by our committee; stories should be HIPAA compliant and should be told without the use of PowerPoint slides. Stories can be personal or reflections on your role within the healthcare field. There will be a workshop prior to the event for those interested in some feedback/guidance for refining your story – final details TBD and will be communicated to the email provided in the RSVP form.
