The School of Nursing has been asked by a PhD student in Nursing Education at the University of Northern Colorado to notify undergraduate nursing students in our School of Nursing about an opportunity to participate in a research study. The study is focused on nursing education environments, minority stressors, and mental health among nursing students who identify as a sexual and/or gender minority. The investigator is seeking to understand how items such as lack of representation within schools of nursing affect experiences of discrimination or internalized stigma, along with understanding the current mental health of a vulnerable and often invisible population.
The investigator is recruiting undergraduate nursing students who identify as a sexual and/or gender minority and who have completed at least one semester to participate in the study. If you meet these criteria and are interested in participating you can click on the survey link below. In the survey you will be asked to share your experiences. The investigator estimates the survey may take up to 30 minutes to complete.

This study has been approved by the IRB committee at the researcher’s home institution. It is not an expectation that you participate. This is something you can do if you wish. Faculty at the UW-Madison School of Nursing will not know who decides to participate. If you have any questions about the study, please contact the study lead: Michelle Gee (gee4811@bears.unco.edu).
