Dr. Jingxi Sheng, a post-doctoral scholar at the UW-Madison School of Nursing, is seeking to hire a research assistant for her study, “Exploring the feasibility of leveraging physical activity to reduce breast cancer risk in Asian American women”.
Position details:
**YEAR-ROUND**
8-12 hrs/week
$15-$19/hr
Duties include:
• Conducting scientific literature searches, including screening articles for relevance.
• Formatting reference lists and entering bibliographies into Endnote reference management tool.
• Post flyers locally and distribute study information through social media networks.
• Manage study information and enrollment events in-person and virtually, including observation and notetaking.
• Serving as a secondary point of contact, answering phone calls and emails, for participant questions.
• Entering survey data and cleaning data in preparation for analysis.
Mileage reimbursement for any local trips to recruitment sites or events will be provided as long as the student employee obtains UW Driver Authorization permissions or submit receipts for other forms of public transportation.
This position requires working in a shared office on-site at Signe Skott Cooper Hall on the UW-Madison campus, but there is some flexibility for occasional remote work.
Qualifications:
• Fluency in English.
• Fluency in Hmong, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
• U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet UW Driver Authorization requirements.
• Ability to travel using own transportation or public transportation to reach recruitment and data collection sites within 20 miles of the UW-Madison campus.
• Interest in health care.
