Making Hospitals More Dementia Friendly – CARE Connections

How can hospitals—with their often confusing and hectic environments—become more supportive of patients living with dementia and their family care partners?

Read how three Wisconsin hospitals are meeting the needs of this patient population in the January issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the SoN’s Center for Aging Research and Education. Here’s an excerpt:

“All of my administrative team had stories. They had a mother or father or grandparents who were living with dementia. When people have a passion, it’s amazing what you can do.”

This month’s CARE Connections also includes a profile of CARE Affiliate Stacy Schmitt, MSN, RN; CARE’s Geri-Res nurse residency program; and news and events related to older adult health and well-being.
