Nontraditional, Adult, and Single Parent Student Scholarships

UW-Madison’s Adult Career and Special Services administers multiple scholarships designed specifically for returning adult, nontraditional, and single parent students. More than thirty scholarships are awarded annually with amounts ranging from $1,000-$5,000. The deadline to apply for the Nontraditional, Adult, and Single Parent Student scholarships is February 10, 2024.

You may qualify if you:
Have at least one full academic year (2024–2025) left in your UW–Madison undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree program.
Are admitted to the University of Wisconsin–Madison by the scholarship application deadline of February 10, 2024.
Had a significant cumulative break in education. No break in education is required to qualify for a Single Parent scholarship.
Are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible noncitizen as defined by FAFSA.

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
