Please see the below summer employment opportunity from the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana.
Our Girl Scout council operates three summer camps, Camp Butternut Springs (Valparaiso, Indiana, Overnight Camp), Camp Greene Wood (Woodridge, Illinois, Day Camp), and Camp Juniper Knoll (East Troy, Wisconsin, Overnight Camp). At each location, we are hiring a Health Supervisor.
The Health Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of medical care for campers and staff during the camp season. They will operate the camp health center, dispense medications, maintain medical records and first aid record keeping, and follow medical treatment procedures approved by a licensed physician in the state where the camp is located. Applicants must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and have graduated high school, candidates that are 23+ are strongly preferred. First Aid and CPR certifications are required at minimum; training for these is provided by GSGCNWI. This person must have experience in a medical or healthcare setting, which is why a nursing student would be a wonderful candidate! The openings at Camp Butternut Springs and Camp Juniper Knoll require the Health Supervisor to live on-site with free room and board. Camp Greene Wood is a day camp, meaning the Health Supervisor works daytime hours and commutes to and from home.
