SoN Mural Concept Reveal and Community Lunch Hour
Artist/muralist Tia Richardson will share her mural design with the School. Attendees will be invited to reflect on the mural as a piece of art. This will build excitement not only for the finished product but for the next step: community painting. Come and enjoy pizza, salad, and an opportunity to hear about the concept and purpose of the SoN’s community mural.
RSVP here by November 22nd

What will be next in the mural creation? Community Painting
In January, we will add the first—and then multiple—layers of paint on the mural. Drop-in painting sessions will be held on January 23rd, 24th, and 25th. This is when the sense of community behind the mural will come to life. All are welcome! Using a “paint-by-numbers” format that removes the need for artistry from participants, painters will create many layers by many people. These many layers add depth to the finished product. The piece of community art will be transitioned to the professional finished product by the artist. This is how the mural will reflect the authentic beauty of many hands as well as the aesthetic beauty of professional artwork.
