Dr. Linda Oakley and the Nurses for Black Wellbeing (N4BW) research team are seeking currently enrolled UW-Madison BSN students to help deliver our assessment-survey-interview protocol in Madison neighborhoods. This is a great opportunity to practice your nurse encounter skills!
Range of job Activities:
- Travel to Madison community health sites with the team
- Use BP monitor, administer timed walking test, conduct brief interview
- Assist participants with online survey
Students will need to attend team meetings, complete online compliance training and in person study training with the team and have scrubs and stethoscope. Having your own transportation is preferred, but not required.
Seeking nursing students good with, or interested in:
- Communication
- Clinical judgment
- Active listening
- Accurate documentation
- Health equity
Students will be paid $15/hour for approximately 1-2 hours per week on most weeks, 4-8 hours/day on study days.
We would like to hire up to 6 students. Start date is ASAP– Positions ending May 2024
