Student leadership opportunity: Apply by October 18

Do you want to make professional connections with local providers and community leaders, and advocate for older adult health and well-being? Are you looking for a leadership position to build your resumé?

The School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) is seeking one first-year Nursing undergraduate student to join our advisory committee.

The student chosen will:

  • Attend one CARE advisory committee meeting per semester and take part in related discussions;
  • Work with community leaders and experts in the field of older adult health;
  • Provide student perspectives on CARE’s priorities and activities;
  • Serve as a liaison with the student Geriatric Interest Group; and
  • Be one of four student committee members (joining a senior-year Nursing undergraduate, Nursing PhD student, and Sociology PhD student).

This is an excellent opportunity for students to collaborate with leaders in health-related fields and gain insights about how education, research, and scholarship benefit practice. Applicants should be interested in older adult health and confident in their communication abilities.

To apply, write a short paragraph about why you are interested and send it along with your resumé to Diane at References and statements of support are welcome but not necessary. The deadline to apply is Wednesday October 18.

CARE supports discoveries that improve aging, and builds the skills and capacity of those who care for older adults. For more information, please visit:
