Fall Course: Rebellious Women from the Global South

French 285: Rebellious Women from the Global South explores how women from different francophone regions from the Global South (with a specific focus on North and Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East) gain agency through literature, movies, comics, and songs, contesting different forms of domination, exclusion, and injustice, based on gender, race, class, and religion. This course is taught in English.
