Summer 2023 Health Intern positions at PLYC

Summer 2023 job opportunity for nursing students – 2 positions for Health Interns at Phantom Lake YMCA Camp this summer. This position is a fantastic experience for any nursing student, as it build leadership skills and has the potential to make some great networking connections. Our Health interns are members of our summer leadership team and they work to promote health, wellness, hydration and self care at camp amongst both our campers and summer staff. They also provide first aid care and collect and distribute all camper medications. Each week we have a volunteer on site who works with the health interns who is either an RN, PA, or physician. This means by the end of summer each health intern has 10 fantastic references and networking connections who are happy to write them letters of recommendation. Our health intern positions are live on site positions, with 24 hours off each week. This includes free room and board and enables our staff members to save all the money they make each summer. Each fall we also put out a staff scholarship that all outgoing staff members are eligible to apply for, with scholarships awarded to 95% of applicants each year!

Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago, Wisconsin is looking to fill several positions, working with our day and resident camp programs for the summer of 2023. These are live on site positions, working Sunday to Saturday with 24 hours off each week, room and board provided, which allows you to save every dollar earned.

Start Date: June 1, 2023

End Date: August 19, 2023

Location: Mukwonago, WI (30 minutes from Milwaukee; 1.5 hours from Chicago.)

PURPOSE: To further the mission of camp to serve campers through the delivery of program activities. You will work together with our seasonal and leadership teams to design and deliver a summer camp program that is safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ of various ages and abilities.

Phantom Lake YMCA Camp offers wonderful opportunities for kids to engage in activities that they will most likely not get anywhere else. They will get to swim in the lake, make bracelets in the Craft Shop, climb through our high ropes course, and many other unique activities. They will get to do all of this while staying in a cabin with other kids their age, allowing them to make friendships and build bonds that can last a lifetime. Every camper to come to Phantom Lake will leave with the Phantom Spirit in them that they will share with the rest of the world.
