Students – This week, the UW System Board of Regents approved a plan to increase UW–Madison’s tuition by 4% during the 2023-24 academic year for Wisconsin-resident undergraduate students. The increase is the first since 2012. The Regents also approved the establishment of an undergraduate tuition differential for the School of Nursing, which will impact students in the TBSN program only. The following email from Dean Scott was sent to SoN undergraduates on 3/31/23:
Dear Students:
At its March 2023 meeting, the UW System Board of Regents approved our request to implement a tuition differential for the UW–Madison Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN) program beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year. I would like to thank the representatives of the junior and senior advisory boards and student ambassadors who provided input into this decision and informed the proposal that was sent to the Board of Regents to consider. The funds will allow the school to provide more resources to enhance student learning. It will also allow us to expand access to simulation activities and offer additional open lab hours, a frequent student request.
I appreciate your understanding and support of this important initiative to keep our school moving forward. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I wish you the best as you complete the final weeks of the semester.
Sincerely,
Dean Linda D. Scott
