CHIP Internship Student Applications are OPEN – Deadline to apply is February 15, 2023

Wisconsin Area Health Education Centers (AHEC)’s CHIP enables college students who have an interest in community health, public health and population health to work with local health departments, tribal health centers, community health centers and community service organizations throughout Wisconsin for an eight-week summer internship.

In addition to valuable experience within local Wisconsin communities, students also:

  • Gain valuable public health knowledge, skills, and experience while providing host sites with the extra capacity needed to strengthen and extend their practice
  • Gain an understanding and an appreciation of the broad range of public health activities undertaken at the local level
  • Earn a stipend based on your position type over the 8-week internship experience

CHIP dates are June 5 – July 28, 2023; there are flexible schedule options including full-time (40 hrs/wk) or part-time (22 hrs/wk or 12 hrs/wk), as well as choosing between in-person, hybrid, or virtual formats.

Applications for Summer 2023 are currently open and will close on February 15, 2023.
