The School of Nursing has been asked by a faculty member from the Duke University School of Nursing to share an opportunity to participate in a research study investigating the effect of a mindset intervention on attitudes and learning strategies in nursing students. The Study has been approved by the Duke Institutional Review Board.
It is not an expectation that you participate in this study. This is something you can do if you wish. Participation would involve watching a 30-minute training video and completing a survey before and after the training. The study activities will all be completed online. Faculty and leaders at the UW-Madison School of Nursing will not know who decides to participate.
Additional information on the study is provided in the recruitment letter below.

Dear Nursing Student,
Would you like to participate in a study of nursing student mindsets and learning strategies? We are doing a research study to learn more about nursing students’ attitudes and behaviors related to learning. The study is in two parts: about 45 minutes at the beginning of the semester, and 15 minutes at the end of the semester.
The first part of the study involves completing an online survey and completing an online training module, for a total of about 45 minutes.
The second part of the study involves completing the same online survey, for a total of about 15 minutes.
Participants who complete the entire study have the option to be enrolled in a drawing for one of three Amazon gift cards.
