Student Hourly Position in Nursing Research-Deadline extended to 4/1

The UW-Madison School of Nursing Research & Sponsored Programs Office (NRSP) is seeking an undergraduate student to help with a variety of tasks that support nursing science. The student employee will work approximately 10 hours per week with different faculty and research staff members within the school. We have a strong team environment to support grant proposals, conduct of research, and award administration.

Sample Range of Duties:

  • Data entry
  • Transcription of qualitative data
  • Copying and scanning
  • Scientific poster and recruitment material design
  • Faculty curriculum vitae (cv) updates
  • Funding searches
  • File management

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Not afraid to ask questions when unsure of project direction
  • Self-starter
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility to work across different projects
  • Good time management skills
  • Professional and reliable

Strong candidates will demonstrate skills in at least three of the following areas, and training will be provided to reach additional proficiency in:

  • Endnote, Mendely and/or Zotero
  • APA and AMA formatting
  • UW library databases
  • Qualtrics
  • Microsoft Office suite of products (particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Graphic design

Other tasks to support NRSP may be required. This is a year-round position (including summer). Pay rate is $13.00/hour. Some flexibility in schedule is offered, but ability to meet deadlines is important.
