Each year, the UW–Madison Nurses Alumni Organization (NAO) and the School of Nursing honors outstanding graduating students by presenting them with pins donated by alumni of the School. Started in 1996, the pinning tradition illustrates the proud history of the UW–Madison School of Nursing and the strong connection of its alumni to the School.
All SON nursing students, faculty, and staff are welcome to nominate graduating undergraduate (TBSN, ABSN, or BSN@Home) nursing students for consideration to receive a pin. Students may also self-nominate. Pin recipients will be selected in mid-April. All nominations must be received by March 31, 2022. Please note this date may be different than the academic awards deadline!
