Public Health, Partnerships and Prevention – January CARE Connections

Towards the beginning of the pandemic, public health practitioners wanted to estimate the potential impact of COVID-19 in their communities.

Read how the School of Nursing’s Wisconsin Public Health Research Network worked with other campus groups to produce color-coded maps, in the January issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the SoN’s Center for Aging Research and Education. Here’s an excerpt:

“Public health professionals can help long-term care communities be prepared for the probability of future outbreaks of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases by assisting in the development of infection control plans.”

This month’s CARE Connections also includes information on a public health residency program; a profile of CARE Affiliate Stacy Schmitt, MSN, RN; and news and events related to older adult health and well-being.
