The UW-Madison School of Nursing Research & Sponsored Programs Office (NRSP) is seeking a bright and motivated undergraduate student to help with a variety of tasks that support nursing science. The student employee will work approximately 10 hours per week with different faculty and research staff members within the school.
Sample Range of Duties:
- Data entry
- Transcription of qualitative data
- Basic data analysis (training provided)
- Literature reviews using online academic databases (e.g., PubMed)
- Copying and scanning
- Scientific poster and recruitment material design
- Assistance with IRB protocol submission
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Not afraid to ask questions when unsure of project direction
- Self-starter
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work across different projects
- Good time management skills
- Professional and reliable
Strong candidates will demonstrate skills in at least three of the following areas, and training will be provided to reach additional proficiency in:
- Endnote and/or Zotero
- APA and AMA formatting
- UW library databases
- Qualtrics
- Microsoft Office suite of products
- Analytical software (for quantitative and qualitative data)
- Graphic design
Other tasks to support NRSP may be required. Pay rate is $12.00/hour. Some flexibility in schedule is offered, but ability to meet deadlines is important.
