SAFEwalk, a free walking companionship service available to all students, faculty, staff, and UW visitors, is hiring students! The pay is $11 an hour, the work expectation is 10-12 hours a week, and the hiring process will probably take a month. All work is during SAFEwalk hours, 7 or 8pm until 1 am. Some summer hours are available, but SAFEwalk will need even more workers in the fall. They do a virtual group interview, so you do not have to be on campus to participate in the interview process.
SAFEWalk is looking for a diverse group of caring students that want to have a fun, active job at night. SAFEwalkers need to have empathy and good judgement. SAFEwalkers must be able to work in partnership with another student with minimal supervision, and be willing to smile through whatever kind of Wisconsin Weather we are having at that moment. Training in basic safety and bystander intervention is provided.
If this sounds like a job you would like, please consider applying by May 10, 2021 11:55 PM to Campus Job Board number 498529. Questions? Call Kate Moran, SAFEwalk Coordinator, at 608-838-7011, or call for a SAFEwalk and ask the team that replies to tell you more about the job.
