This virtual discussion of social isolation, loneliness, and relationships in long-term care organized by the Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) at the UW-Madison School of Nursing, features:
- Tonya Roberts, School of Nursing Assistant Professor who works to develop, implement, and evaluate resident-centered and family-centered interventions that improve the quality of care and quality of life for vulnerable older adults
- Janelle Zacho, Director of Nursing at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena who lived at the nursing home early in the pandemic and continues to use innovative approaches to support residents’ interactions with family and friends
- Connie Thimming, Director of Enrichment Services at Felician Village in Manitowoc, who leads their Dementia Center of Excellence and is using her experience with social services, music therapy, massage therapy, and other resources to provide meaningful activities
