Are you an undergraduate student and a member of a traditionally underrepresented group?
Are you interested in pursuing graduate studies related to the arts, health, or education fields?
Do you want a curated, independent research experience guided by a faculty mentor?
Do you want help learning everything you need to know about how to apply to graduate school?
Do you want a competitive summer salary? (I mean, come on, who doesn’t want money?!)
If you answered yes to all of the above, the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites you to apply for the Summer Education Research Program (SERP) sponsored by the School of Education and the Graduate School. The SERP program takes place May 24 – July 30, 2021.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Education is ranked as the #1 public School of Education in the United States, has a wealth of research expenditures ($63 million), and is consistently at the forefront of racial and social justice issues, conversations and commitment. The School of Education offers dozens of programs within the following 10 departments: Art, Counseling Psychology, Curriculum & Instruction, Dance, Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis, Educational Policy Studies, Educational Psychology, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Psychology & Special Education and Theatre & Drama.
Many former SERP scholars not only thrive in the program, they also apply to and are accepted to graduate programs offered by the School of Education upon completion of SERP. As such, participation in SERP not only gives you a first-rate research experience as an undergraduate college student, it greatly increases the likelihood that you will be accepted to one of our graduate programs. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, February 15th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mary Dueñas, SERP Coordinator, at oedi@education.wisc.edu. Please type “SERP Questions” in the subject field and we will reply at our earliest convenience.
