Help strengthen the vital eldercare workforce as part of a dynamic center that supports discoveries that improve aging, and builds the skills and capacity of those who care for older adults. The UW–Madison School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) Adult and Student Services Coordinator will work with faculty to enhance student education on older adult health and well-being, and engage health care providers to increase utilization of evidence-based programs and products on geriatric care.
CARE Adult and Student Services Coordinator – 0.2 FTE (with possibility of increasing)
Summary: Schedules logistics, secures resources, and coordinates efforts for an educational outreach program; plans, facilitates, and evaluates related events; and may present in campus courses or as part of educational events to help individuals provide quality care to older adults.
Responsibilities
- Designs and drafts program specific materials and resources for an educational outreach program for nursing students and health care organizations
- Develops, facilitates, and evaluates educational outreach program content and materials for nursing students and health care organizations
- Identifies opportunities for adult educational outreach program improvement or new service development
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of educational outreach program events and conferences
- Promotes evidence-based gerontological workforce development resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- An understanding of older adults’ unique health and social needs
- Preferred
- Formal teaching experience, such as a nursing instructor, teaching assistant, or staff educator
- Experience designing and delivering educational programming that follows adult learning principles
- Experience working with older adults
- Understanding of university systems
