Could community resources help address racial disparities in dementia by supporting brain health?
That’s one of the questions driving UW–Madison School of Nursing assistant professor Megan Zuelsdorff’s research. Read about her work in the October issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the SoN’s Center for Aging Research and Education. Here’s an excerpt:
“With the STRIDE study, we’re prioritizing recruitment of Wisconsin’s rural, African American, and Native communities,” she says. “We’re trying to be responsive to stakeholder feedback, adjusting the protocol along the way.”
This month’s CARE Connections also includes COVID-19 resources; information about free workshops for caregivers of people living with dementia; a profile CARE Affiliate Sarah Endicott, DNP, RN, GNP-BC; and news and events related to older adult health and well-being.
