Center for Research on Gender & Women Award Nominations Are Open!

On behalf of the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies, the Center for Research on Gender & Women (CRGW) administers 4 awards with a November 16, 2020 deadline. Information about each one is listed below. If you would like further information, please contact Elizabeth Morris.

Deborah A. Hobbins Graduate Student Award in Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice:

  • This award supports a UW-Madison graduate or professional student working in research and/or advocacy pertaining to reproductive health, rights, and justice. Maximum award amount: $5,000.

Hyde Dissertation Research Award for Graduate Students:

  • This award supports a UW-Madison student on social science dissertation research on gender or women’s studies related work.  Maximum award amount: $1,500.

The Worcester/Whatley/Leavitt Award:

  • The Worcester/Whatley/Leavitt Award is given to a UW-Madison graduate student, with preference to students in the GWS Department. Maximum award amount: $1,000.

Mary Washburn Willets Award for Excellence in the Social Sciences:

  • This award recognizes an outstanding UW-Madison Ph.D. student in the social sciences working in the area of gender and women’s studies. Maximum award amount: $400.
