Experiences as an undergraduate nursing student shape nursing practice and career choices.
Read about UW–Madison School of Nursing alumna Kathryn Gerber’s transition to practice and her advice for current students in the August issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the SoN’s Center for Aging Research and Education. Here’s an excerpt:
“Some students might be down that they’re missing out on experiences because of the pandemic,” Gerber acknowledges. “But you’re also in a unique position to be a catalyst for change. You can use this to motivate yourself as a health professional.”
This month’s CARE Connections also includes COVID-19 resources; a profile of CARE Affiliate Lauren Bishop, MSW, PhD; a survey for people who work in aging in the Madison area; and news and events related to older adult health and well-being.
