Dear Graduating Students:
The postponement of UW-Madison’s Commencement ceremonies means that our School of Nursing celebrations will also be postponed. This includes the “pinning” ceremony held during the send-off for graduates of the traditional and accelerated BSN programs, and the BSN@Home program for registered nurses; BSN convocation, and the doctoral convocation for graduates of the DNP and PhD programs.
The need to postpone is disappointing for all of us. Welcoming you to the School in your respective undergraduate and graduate programs and celebrating as you graduate, are two of the most special moments of nursing education. Convocation is a time of celebration for you and your families; and it is gratifying for faculty, staff, and other alumni to welcome you into the profession and congratulate those who are advancing their nursing careers.
While there is a great deal of uncertainty right now, please know for sure that I will explore all of the possibilities to hold convocation at a future date. And I hope that you will return to participate in this special celebration of Badger Nurses. I will provide further information as soon as I can.
Take care and stay well, Dean Scott
