Project Management for Graduate Students

Wednesday, January 15, 9:00am–3:00pm

Project management is a set of skills that can be applied in academic, non-profit, laboratory, business, and many other settings. Learn principles of project management and apply them to a project or context relevant to you in this collaborative, daylong program. Students will also have the chance to hear from a panel of successful project managers over lunch.

Successful Interviewing for Non-Academic Positions

Thursday, January 30, 11:00am–12:30pm

Career advisor and consultant Kristina Vack will help master’s and doctoral students prepare for professional interviews outside of the academy. She will identify the various types of interview questions; review a structure for, and allow guided practice of, crafting interview responses that illustrate your experience; and discuss other aspects of the interview process, such as effective nonverbal communication.
