Needed: Caring, compassionate, reliable pre-med, nursing, therapy, or healthcare student
Basic Responsibilities: To care for a special 18-year-old girl at her home on the southwest side of Madison, about 25 minutes by car from the UW campus.
In addition to providing typical personal care, you can gain valuable experience because part of this care, which is medical or health-related, involves giving g-tube feedings, doing therapeutic exercises, and working with assistive technology for communication, which the family will gladly train you to do.
Hours and Days Needed: During the academic year, typically, 10 – 12 hours per week, depending on family’s and your schedules: one shift four to five later afternoon-evening shift per week and one six-hour shift on the weekend. During the summer months, more hours are available, typically throughout in the day and different times on the weekends.
Start Date: Training to start as soon as possible. Commitment desired, at least, through the academic year to follow, which can be extended through the following summer and beyond.
Salary: $10.60 per hour (CNA) or $9.70 per hour (non-CNA) + travel time up to an hour through Catalyst Home Health.
Experience preferred.
References required.
Own transportation needed.
