Job Description:
This internship is an initiative of the UW-Madison School of Nursing and the Wisconsin Public Health Research Network (WPHRN). The WPHRN’s mission is to link public health practitioners and researchers to answer questions and disseminate discoveries that can be applied to improve practice and population health. The TEP-PH Intern will be a graduate student in nursing or public health. TEP-PH Interns are supervised by the WPHRN director (Susan Zahner, DrPH, RN). The TEP-PH Intern will:
- work under supervision to conduct research to address questions relevant to WPHRN’s mission or translate and disseminate findings from prior WPHRN projects to local, tribal, and state public health practice;
- participate in WPHRN meetings; and
- assist with WPHRN activities as needed.
A minimum of 250 hours of work time is expected over a semester, summer, or other time as individually negotiated. Tuition remission is not included in the internship. A work plan and internship agreement will be negotiated with the intern and signed at the beginning of the project. Students may be able to use these hours for required clinical or field placement hours or course credit, as allowed by their academic programs.
