Helping Students See the “Invisible Patient”: Family Caregivers – April CARE Connections

How can healthcare better support family caregivers? Read what family caregiver and former Wisconsin Governor Martin Schreiber suggests in the April issue of CARE Connections, the monthly newsletter of the School’s Center for Aging Research and Education.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Why did it take me so long to understand what was going on?” wonders Schreiber. “When my health started going downhill, why did medical professionals not ask what was going on in my life that would cause an ordinarily healthy guy to become so short of breath and irrationally irritable, among other things?”

This month’s CARE Connections also includes a profile of CARE Affiliate and SoN Assistant Professor Kristen Pecanac, and news relevant to older adult health. Read the issue here.
