The patient is an easy-going quadriplegic on the west side of Madison who is interested in someone that is accountable, consistent and can tell a (half-way) decent joke. I would encourage anyone interested in working as a part-time (or full-time) caregiver – gaining direct patient contact and being grounded by a humbling experience – to check out the job posting on the UW Jobs Center (https://jobcenter.wisc.edu/jobs/detail/17941). Below are a few things about the position:
1) The pay rate is $15 per hour.
2) Previous experience is not necessary and training will be provided!
3) You must be able to travel to the west side of Madison and arrive to each shift promptly (owning a vehicle is strongly recommended).
4) Shifts are either early in the morning (starting anywhere from 6:00am – 7:00am and ending by 8:00am – 9:00am) and in the evening (starting at either 7:30pm or 8:30pm, depending on the night, and ending between 10:00pm – 10:30pm).
