WHO Director-General Dr Tedros appoints Cook Islands’ Elizabeth Iro as WHO’s Chief Nursing Officer

On October 12, 2017, Ms Elizabeth Iro was appointed as the Chief Nursing Officer at WHO.  Ms Iro is a registered nurse, and the Cook Islands’ current Secretary of Health.  With this announcement, Dr Tedros fulfills a commitment he made during his transition to the Director-General role to appoint a nurse to his senior team.  For more information visit: http://who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2017/chief-nursing-officer/en/
